Thoughts

Mum, thank you for teaching me the importance of hard work, strong principles, and good, honest values. We laughed a lot and you had a good sense of humour, even though we reassuringly laughed at the same jokes over and over! You were there for me when I needed emotional support and advice. You were generous, kind, resilient, and smart. You worked hard to give me what I needed, and I am eternally grateful for that. I think I got the gift of the gab from you. I miss telephoning 395305 to talk to you, and I will never forget those six numbers. You took care of me when I was sick, celebrated me when I did well, and taught me right from wrong. And you were always so wise when I talked to you about affairs of the heart. Thank you for being so warm to everyone I introduced to you, especially my long time friends, and my wife, Carly. We both greatly appreciate you welcoming her into the family. Finally, thank for the family you created. 11 Glenholme Road was the only family home I ever knew. My childhood was happy, fun, and I have so many great memories of my time there. Mum, I'll never forget you, I'll always admire you, and I'll forever love and miss you. Matt x.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
